PREMIERE: Dove Armitage Melts Genres And Celebrates The Non-Binary On Debut LP ‘PEGASUS’
by JAMES DURAN
Dove Armitage’ debut LP PEGASUS is a glorious celebration of the non-binary built entirely off mood - experience it
Nearly a year since the universe was first introduced to Dove Armitage and we finally have a full length record - a collection of 11 genre-melting tracks that have been ‘excruciatingly’ built ‘soley off mood’ according to Quincy Larsen, the mastermind behind Dove’s PEGASUS.
Best experienced start to finish, PEGASUS blends electronic art-rock elements with stereo-system-worthy beats to create overwhelming, heroic soundscapes that would feel right at home in the dance-club, a video-game soundtrack, the Mustang 5.0, or (personal fav) straight from your headphones right into your face.
For some insight on the new record we briefly chatted with Dove over email for about her new creation:
What do listeners need to know about Dove Armitage and the debut LP?
Dove Armitage celebrates the non-binary and pushes the imaginary “boundaries” of genre. This entire record was built solely off of mood, making it rather excruciating to make. It took a lot of deep diving into some very difficult emotions.
