Get Fucked By Society With Alexa Van and The Black Outs On "Cry BB"

Get fucked by society (but in a fun, BDSM kinda way) with Alexa Van and The Black Outs on their new single ‘Cry BB’

On their latest single ‘Cry BB’, LA’s Alexa Van and The Black Outs touch on something I know every single one of you can relate to - getting fucked by society. Think no universal healthcare, bank fees, credit checks and my “favorite” the damn DMV - yeah, society is so amazing. Despite life sometimes being a drag, Alexa Van and The Black Outs are anything but, releasing killer rock-n-roll tracks throughout the pandemic and well into what is (hopefully) the beginning of the end of it. Their latest offering, ‘Cry BB’ is a slower, heavy burn all the way through, proving the band can rip just as hard without setting the metronome on fire. We asked lead Alexa Van about the lyrics behind her bands new single and what’s next for The Black Outs:

“The theme and lyrical inspiration behind Cry BB is being fucked by society, but like, in a fun BDSM kind of way :) "It never ends," Suggesting we bleed for work, power, money, whatever. And it's never enough. You could cry about it, but no one cares. The line "wrapped around me like chains in a basement," was not originally in the song. My bass player Chris said this song sounded like I had someone chained in my basement, which I thought was pretty funny (and accurate) so I changed the lyrics to that.

Next up for Alexa Van and The Black Outs would be another single "Hero." Release date TBD. We have an EP in the mix as well, and we're itching to get back to playing shows again.”
