Taleen Kali’s pandemic-valentines-soundtrack is an ethereal rework of her cover of The Supreme’s classic ‘Baby Love’ by Chicago based shoe-gazers Astrobite. Dripping in reverberated fuzz, the remix is rough and dark while still remaining unapologetically sweet. According to Kali, it’s the perfect backdrop for ‘blissing out in the tub or the bedroom’ on February 14th
“For our first pandemic Valentine’s Day, I wanted to explore something familiar and bittersweet. We've taken utmost caution as a band and have postponed our LP recording until post-vaccine. We didn’t want that to stop us from releasing music, so we decided on a remix of Supremes “Baby Love” cover! Shoegaze has always been my favorite, so we sent the track to our friends Astrobrite in Chicago. They reimagined it with their signature doomy shoegaze sound. I’ve been a huge fan of Astrobrite for years and it was an honor to have Scott Cortez to rework our cover with monster guitars in his Chicago studio.”
