So, with the live music industry essentially postponed for the foreseeable future, we’re asking artists how they’ve been spending their time during quarantine. Is there anything you’ve been doing to stay sane, busy, and connected?
Ah well, yes the staying sane part is definitely the trick haha. I’ve been spending this time trying to be creative and also kind to myself. Some days I wake up and I’m super motivated and I write music, play all day, brainstorm ideas for music videos. Other days I wake up and I’m so tired I just want to chill and do facemasks. And I think that’s okay. One thing that has oddly helped me is doing Instagram live shows. I’d never gone live before the quarantine but playing acoustic shows and being able to interact with an audience, even virtually, has really helped me. I miss playing shows a lot a lot a lot. Also, spending a lot of time in the front yard, being outside even a little helps tremendously. I did a Photoshoot from 6 feet away with my friend and designer Dani Drasin. That was strange in the fact that I couldn’t hug her, but nice to feel like I was still being creative in that way. Also FaceTiming my friends at every hour of the day lol
Are there any positives to hanging out at home most of the day?
I’ve become quite the cook!! This is honestly a huge deal. If you know me you know I literally used my kitchen for storage before, but I’ve really enjoyed cooking and learning new recipes. Turns out I’m not so bad!
The pasta is homemade beet pasta from scratch! With lemon zest, basil, and papaya seeds.
